About the Organization: Founded in 1970 by a group of volunteers, 360 Communities is a nonprofit organization which provides services to more than 16,000 people annually in over 40 locations in Dakota County, Minnesota. Holistic services include a network of five food shelves, two family resource centers, two domestic and sexual violence shelters, and two programs that support school success from birth to high school graduation.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The VPI Manager will be responsible for the operational success of the following programs: Lewis Houses, Outreach, Sexual Assault, and Community Awareness/Prevention ensuring seamless team management and development, program delivery and impact, and evaluation and improvement.  The VPI Manager, in partnership with the Director of Programs and Operations will lead the violence prevention and intervention impact area to achieve outcomes and establish vision for VPI programs.

 DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Demonstrate commitment to the agency’s mission statement and core values at all times. The mission statement is “360 Communities delivers safety and stability that improves lives.”
  • Partner with the Director of Programs and Operations to represent 360 Communities with external community groups.  Raise awareness regarding the needs of those impacted by programs and cultivate community relationships to increase involvement and resources. 
  • Partner with the Director of Programs and Operations to develop VPI strategies and vision 
  • Lead implementation of VPI strategies
  • Manage program aspects and grants effectively within budget in collaboration with the Director of Programs and Operations and the Director of Finance and Administration, and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered.
  • Ensure that programs and services are in compliance with all federal, state, funding, and city regulations, certifications, and licensing requirements.
  • Develop objective performance measurements to ensure consistent, high-quality evaluation and goal setting for staff.
  • Instill a sense of accountability among team members by modeling oversight of individual and organization performance standards.
  • Evaluate the skill, experience, and professional development needs of staff and partner with other leaders to implement professional development initiatives.
  • Recruit, hire, and oversee training and orientation of program staff.
  • Work with Volunteer Manager to engage, equip and retain volunteers as it relates to VPI.
  • Provide effective and inspiring leadership with a focus on increasing violence prevention and intervention impact and outcomes across all programs and services. Work with Program Supervisors in other impact areas to collaborate and assist in cross training staff. 
  • Review and analyze reports / dashboards to determine progress and potential issues. Devise mitigation plans as necessary in partnership with the Director of Programs and Operations.
  • Develop and implement strategies that will maximize the synergies among VPI staff and create effective teams with strong communication between VPI programs.
  • Ensure programs are holistic, culturally appropriate, consumer centric, and accessible.
  • Innovate to improve and expand programs.
  • Participate in planning and promoting community awareness events
  • Provide back up and support to Shelter and Outreach Supervisors to cover shelter and support staff as needed.
  • Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as the need is apparent or as requested or delegated.

Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise the Lewis House Supervisor, Outreach Supervisor, Family Youth Advocates, and Community Education Specialist.
  • Direct, motivate, develop, evaluate and review staff work.
  • Manage staff, prepare work schedules, and assign projects and duties.
  • Monitor and control resources used by staff.
  • Interview and train new employees, or oversee those personnel processes.

Education and/or Experience:

  • 4-5 years professional experience working with victims of domestic or sexual violence, 3 years related supervisor experience, Bachelor’s degree preferred, but experience in lieu of degree will be considered. 
  • Experience working in Domestic and Sexual Violence shelters.
  • Experience working with a collaborative and constructive peer group.
  • Experience with socially, economically or culturally diverse populations.
  • Experience hiring, recruiting, managing, developing, coaching, and retaining individuals and teams, empowering them to elevate their levels of responsibility and performance.
  • Working knowledge of human resources; professional development plans, performance evaluations, performance improvement plans, and corrective action policies.
  • Experience being self-directed, motivated and ability to demonstrate nonjudgmental professional decision making skills.
