Violence Prevention & Intervention

Since our first Lewis House shelter opened its doors in 1979, we expanded our violence prevention and intervention services to include two shelters, sexual assault services, outreach advocacy, and educational services.  We partner with law enforcement agencies, educational institutions, faith communities, and other service organizations to equip individuals in Dakota County with the tools to combat domestic and sexual violence and support survivors.

At 360 Communities, we intervene in crises and provide a stabling force for individuals experiencing violence. We offer a holistic approach regardless of whether an individual requires a long-term stay at one of our Lewis House shelters or assistance with law enforcement or in court. Violence prevention advocates give presentations in schools, provide training, and host other community engagement events to educate our community about domestic and sexual violence. Topics include conflict resolution, stopping violence before it starts, and teaching boys to value and respect women and girls.
