Housing for Success can help families identify their unique paths to housing. We help families navigate barriers along the way that may block the route.
We can provide holistic ongoing support before, during, and after establishing housing.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I qualify for this program?
- Families get referred to this program through their local school district and must be experiencing housing instability, causing them to be doubled up or in a hotel.
- Families must have sufficient income or a subsidy in place to pay rent going forward.
- Families must have a child enrolled in a Dakota County school district.
How long will it take to become housed?
- Length of program enrollment is based on the strengths and needs of the family, and the obstacles that they are navigating. Typically, a family works with us for 3-6 months. Some financial assistance is available for help with first month’s rent and deposit.
Do you offer other stabilizing resources?
- 360 Communities is a resource organization available in Dakota County for food insecurity, relationship stability and school support. We also are happy to refer you to other partners that can help with your specific situation.
How is this program funded?
- Housing for Success is a contract our organization has with Dakota County. It is funded by Local Homeless Prevention Aid dollars.
What kind of donations are helpful to the program to support kids and families?
- To support families experiencing homelessness, we always need help! Items needed are: financial assistance, gift cards for gas and groceries, easy to pack snacks and meals, and welcome home baskets with items for families when they move (examples: cleaning supplies, paper products, kitchen utensils and items, bathroom supplies)
