Shine a light for survivors and be an ally

a message from
Jeff Mortensen, President & CEO

Domestic violence thrives in the shadows.

At 360 Communities, we know that every act of compassion, every shared resource, and every courageous story connected to our work with survivors serves as a beacon of hope.

Our advocates advance our mission 24 hours a day, seven days a week, supporting victims in crisis, sheltering survivors at Lewis House, and raising awareness in the community. They are a guiding light, delivering safety and stability for individuals navigating the darkest moments of their lives.

Survivor journeys

Meet two remarkable women whose journeys remind us that 360 Communities builds relationships that promote hope and healing: Rebecca found refuge and strength at our Lewis House shelter, while artist JuliAnne found encouragement in our support groups and now shares her art to help others heal. Their stories reveal how they have become beacons of light, empowering others to gain healing and hope.

Your role in preventing domestic violence

I invite you to reflect on your role in curbing domestic violence and creating a brighter future for survivors. How might you illuminate and see the “shadows” that exist around you? It may be empathy that moves you to check in on a neighbor and discover they need help, speak up in conversations to expand awareness, and disrupt harmful words and behaviors. You are not the expert, but you can make a significant impact through your own awareness, within your relationships, and by connecting people to resources. 360 Communities is the resource and has the expertise to intervene and provide help. You are the critical partner in this work as each gesture, every conversation, and every moment of connection matters.

We all must shed light on the pervasiveness of domestic violence, support survivors, hold abusers accountable, and continue demonstrating that hope shines brightest when we work together to build safety and stability.
