360 Communities offers support for victims/survivors who may not need or want to stay at the Lewis House shelter. Community advocates are mobile and can meet people where it is most convenient for them.
Our staff:
- Have offices located in law enforcement agencies across Dakota County.
- Work to influence how police respond to sexual and domestic violence.
- Partner with other service organizations and healthcare providers to ensure victims access what they need for their unique situation.
- Help with safety planning, emotional support, goal planning, financial assistance for crime victims, connections to community resources, and much more.
Legal Advocacy
We guide survivors through the legal process, helping fill out orders for protection, attending court hearings and providing information.
Our staff can:
- Attend criminal and civil hearings with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in all three courthouses in Dakota County (West St. Paul, Apple Valley and Hastings).
- Assist with writing Orders for Protection, Harassment Restraining Orders, and Victim Impact Statements. It is always best practice for survivors to have a trained advocate help with writing an order.
- Make referrals to the legal clinic, held by Legal Assistance of Dakota County at Lewis House each month, where questions about family law issues can be answered.

Support Groups
Survivor Support Dog
360 Communities was the first domestic violence agency in the state to use trained dogs to support survivors.
40-Hour Advocacy Training
360 Communities’ 40-Hour Advocacy Training allows attendees to gain a greater understanding of domestic and sexual violence while equipping them with the foundational knowledge and skills to be an advocate through interactive activities, discussions, and a variety of content.
Education & Resources
Violence prevention begins with all of us. 360 Communities educates the public about the causes of domestic and sexual violence and works upstream to promote healthy relationships.
