Statement regarding Lakeville domestic violence killings

360 Communities extends our heartfelt condolences to the family of Bethany Israel after the tragic incident of domestic violence that claimed her life and the life of her unborn baby last week.  Our thoughts are with her mother, the first to arrive at the horrific scene, her husband, friends, co-workers, neighbors, and others who are grieving this loss.  We are also thinking about our neighbors in the cities of Lakeville and Rosemount, and all community members and professionals who were impacted by this tragedy.

This is the seventh documented domestic violence-related homicide in Dakota County in the last two years, and it continues to illustrate the stark reality that we proclaim:  the trauma of domestic violence is a public issue with devastation that is far-reaching, life-long, and affects multiple generations.  360 Communities remains steadfast in its commitment to engaging communities in efforts that support healthy relationships and eliminate violence.
