BURNSVILLE, MN – 360 Communities President & CEO Sal Mondelli has announced that he will retire at the end of 2016. The board of directors has approved the promotion of Chief Operating Officer Jeff Mortensen to President & COO, effective immediately, with a transition plan for him to succeed Mondelli as CEO later this year.

“Sal has been instrumental in ensuring 360 Communities’ long-term sustainability and in positioning this incredible community resource for greater impacts in the years ahead,” said Board Chair Samuel Edmunds. “He will leave behind a legacy of open communication, positive leadership, and organizational growth.”

During Mondelli’s tenure at 360 Communities, the organization boosted annual revenue to more than $4.4 million, increased its capacity to serve, strengthened its programs and services, and produced measurable results. This work has solidified 360 Communities as a premier charitable organization in Dakota County. In 2014, the Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce named 360 Communities its nonprofit of the year.

“When I came here, I said I felt that this was a growth opportunity,” said Mondelli, “I knew we had talented staff who were already making measurable differences in the community, and today the organization is stronger than ever. I am confident that Jeff Mortensen will continue to lead 360 Communities down the path of sustainable growth.”

Mortensen has been a driving force of strategic innovation at 360 Communities for over 10 years and has served in many executive capacities including interim CEO for 6 months in 2012. As COO, Mortensen strengthened organizational culture and community impact with a focus on leadership development and improved service delivery. He has driven operational excellence using data to inform decisions and strategic thinking to equip the organization in meeting future demands. He has been instrumental in forging multiple agency partnerships, and has led extensive fundraising efforts in the community.
